History

•July 6, 2018, by virtue of Hospital Order Number 66 series 2018, the Department of Dermatology was created.

•The goal of this order is to provide training in the diagnosis, investigation  and management- both medical and surgical – of skin diseases, while promoting aptitudes of competence in dermatological consultation, education and learning.

Resident Program

VENEREOLOGY FELLOWSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM

The Venereology Fellowship Straight Program of the Tondo Medical Center – Department of Dermatology and Venereology is carefully designed in alignment with the Philippine government’s strategic directions on sexually transmitted infections. This flagship program represents a significant milestone in advancing specialized training in venereology in the country. It is accredited by the Philippine Society of Venereologists and implemented in partnership with the National University Hospital in Singapore, ensuring that the curriculum meets both national and international standards of excellence. Notably, this is the first Venereology Fellowship Straight Program established in the Philippines. It was developed to address the growing need for highly trained specialists who can competently manage sexually transmitted infections through an integrated clinical and public health approach.

The 12-month program is offered to dermatologists who have completed their residency training or have passed their diplomate examination. A distinctive feature of this fellowship is its strong integration of public health principles with clinical training. By the end of the program, fellows develop balanced competencies in both clinical venereology and public health practice.
